A very happy new year to you all, I wish you all a healthy year filled with much happiness and adventure !!

And so we face another year, while it seems that the last went by in a blink of an eye! 2012 is upon us and yet again we face the challenges that our daily lives will send hurtling along our paths!

The start of the cooking school year is always a challenge as I spend hours contemplating the ideas and menus I want to share and the requests from all our regular foodies.

What to do, what to do……. Should I start the year off in a healthy, responsible manner and do salads and diet food??

Should I help all the frustrated makers of school lunches out there who are at a loss for ideas??

Should I embrace a new culture and visit the food of far off countries?? since February is the month of romance and love, roses and chocolate and passion

I have decided to run a menu that celebrates the love of food along with healthy eating, dabble with a marinade from far away and show you how to adapt and use leftovers in a lunch box!

But most importantly let’s cook and eat food with abandon and passion in this month of love, in the words of George Bernard Shaw, “there is no love sincerer than the love of food”

Menu

 Passion fruit punch

Oven Baked Brinjal, feta and tomato towers with a sun dried tomato basting

Heart shaped Vanilla custard tartlets with a lemon drizzle

 Chocolate strawberries

 Cost: R300 per person
